July Celebrations

July is full of fun holidays to celebrate. The Reserves of Melbourne Blog brings you some reasons to celebrate this month here in Melbourne, FL. We have some traditional as well as internet holidays. We hope you get a chance to celebrate some of these holidays this month!

National Ice Cream Month

This is the perfect time of year to go out and get some ice cream with friends. Visit our local Ben & Jerry’s or another shop you love. Or you can even try making your own homemade ice cream. We love this No Churn Brownie Batter Ice Cream from The Recipe Critic. You don’t even need an ice cream maker for this recipe.

Independence Day (July 4)

The Fourth of July is filled with fun activities, parades, picnics, and fireworks. Celebrate this national holiday by attending a local 5K or parade, throwing a picnic or a barbecue, and finishing the day with a spectacular fireworks show.

National Fried Chicken Day (July 6)

Who doesn’t love some delicious fried chicken, especially during this time of year? Try out this Nashville Hot Chicken recipe from All Recipes. You’ll need buttermilk, pickle brine, Louisiana-style hot sauce, an egg, flour, salt and pepper, butter, lard, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and vegetable oil. This is a real southern recipe that’s sure to please everyone.

Hammock Day (July 22)

Hammocks are a great way to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather during the summer. Invest in a hammock to hang outside around the neighborhood or at the local park. Bring a good book and have a relaxing time. You can find some great hammocks online. Find one that fits your needs and enjoy!

National Hot Dog Day (July 18)

Host a hot dog bar to celebrate National Hot Dog Day. Invite your friends and family over for a barbecue! Put out some favorite (and unique) toppings for the perfect hot dog bar. Pull out the usual sauces along with a variety of peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, onions, sauerkraut, guacamole, and bacon. Make signs with suggested hot dog combinations. There are so many options out there, so be creative!
